About Promise

The unicorn who tries, gets it a little wrong, and tries again — built on real values, not gimmicks.

How She Got Her Name

Before she was Promise, she was just a little unicorn who didn't have a name yet — and she was scared of that. Every other unicorn in the valley seemed to already know exactly who they were.

One day, she tried to help a friend cross a shaky bridge and got it wrong — she rushed, the friend slipped, and she felt terrible. Instead of hiding, she went back. She promised her friend she'd help fix it, and she promised herself she'd get better at trying, even when trying meant messing up first.

Her grandmother, an old unicorn with a silver mane, watched this happen and said: "That's who you are. Not the unicorn who's never wrong — the one who keeps her promise anyway." And that's how she got her name.

Not Getting It Right

Now, whenever Promise tries something new and it doesn't go perfectly — and it usually doesn't, at first — she remembers: a promise isn't about getting it right the first time. It's about not giving up on the people you care about.

A Real Foundation

Promise Books is faith-adjacent at its core. Her name and her story are inspired by one of the oldest promises there is: the one in Genesis 9, a promise kept no matter what. We don't preach it — we just build from it.

What Every Story Stands For

Every story we make is held to these three standards, on purpose:

Quality

Every book and video is made with real care, not templated out like the rest of the shelf.

Skill Building

Each story leaves kids with something to practice, not just something to watch.

Values & Respect

Keeping your word, owning a mistake, and showing up for people — paired with real respect for kids' intelligence and parents' trust.

Less Screen, More Thinking

We're not anti-tablet, but we believe what kids watch should leave them more able to think for themselves, not less.

Built for Real Conversations

Promise's stories are built to spark conversation, imagination, and problem-solving off-screen — the kind of thing you can talk about at dinner, not just scroll past.

More From Promise

Promise's story doesn't stop at the page. She shows up in coloring books, printables, and short videos, with more episodes on the way. Each one follows the same idea: she tries, she gets it a little wrong, and she tries again. If your kid likes meeting her here, there's more of her world to explore — follow along to see what she's up to next, and to be first in line when new stories launch.
